Go where roads can’t take you. This 3-hour tour takes you deep into the UNESCO world biosphere reserve and all the way out to the tip of Long Point. Learn the stories and the rich history that encompass this legendary sand spit.
- On tour we make a number of educational stops at historical locations and teach you all about Long Point’s rich history (you actually get get to see)!
- Get off at the tip of Long Point, see the lighthouse and take in the stunning views. During the summer don’t forget to bring your swimmers and beachwear as the waters are warm and sandy beaches are long and inviting.
- This tour truly makes you feel like your going back in time. The remote beaches resemble that of a Caribbean Island, there are no roads, no development, only the lake and rolling sand dunes.
- We recommend you stand on the very tip of the giant sand spit and experience the splash pool effect caused by the 2 currents that meet, the same currents that continue to build Long Point.

Birding Shuttles to the tip of Long Point
Shuttles May 2019 | 6:30am start
REGULAR PRICES: $119/person | A portion of the fees go to the Long Point Bird Observatory.
- Long Point Peninsula attracts over 390 different species of bird each year; it is the longest freshwater sand spit in the world and a main North American flyway for 1000’s of migrating birds. May is usually the best time of year to see this bottleneck of warblers & songbirds!
- Get up early and take our zodiac tour boat to the to Tip of Long Point as the sun is rising. Bring your binoculars and add to that life birding list.
- The expedition begins at our shop in Turkey Point where you will meet your guide/boat captain. At 6:30am depart from the marina and cross Long Point Bay all the way to the tip (approximately 20 to 30 min’s). We encourage clients to have their binoculars & scopes ready as we often see large rafts of ducks & shorebirds along the way.
- Once Clients arrive on the tip they have access to a pristine environment that abounds with a wide diversity of migrating birds, an opportunity to meet & greet the staff/volunteers at the Long Point Bird Observatory Tip Research Station and be provided bottled water click on tour details for more info.
